Adam Winn donated part of the land for the building of the Halifax, Wilmington and Weldon Railroad.  At the time it was 161 miles of continuous track and was the "longest railroad in the world."

Lee

The Lee connection is more clouded.  However, it appears that this side fo the family descends from slaves.

We can trace the family tree back approximately six generations which starts with Friday and Lisa Williams.  They were the parents of Rancey Williams, mother of Jasper.

Jasper is a Williams by birth, but Rancey remarried and took the name of Lee.  Jasper's father is Abram Williams.  No more is known about the Williams family.  One of Jasper's brothers was named Effenus.

Jasper and Loretta Lived on a small farm.  Jasper was very active in his church and was an accomplished piano player. Loretta was an expert at crocheting and sewing.

Jasper married Loretta Manley, a descendant of the Winn Family on her mother's (Minnie) side. Jasper and Loretta had two children - Otis and Katie Marian.

Katie Marian Lee married Horace B. Henderson and they Had twelve children: Frederick, Marian Christine, Horace, Hal, Effenus, Gary, James, Larry, Howard Len, Bonita, Charlene, and Monte.

Aldridge The Aldridge (Aldrich) ancestry descends from Waccamaw Indian ancestry.  Currently the line can be traced back to the Robert(1819 - 1899) and Eliza Bayscin (1830)-Aldrich Family.  They were the parents of John W. Aldrich.  Also, Adam Artis (1831 - 1919) and Ida Artis were the parents of Louvicey (Lula) Artis.

John W. Aldrich married Louvicey (Lula) Artis and they had a number of children including Lenora Christine, Corine, Catherine, Zebedee, Johnny, Thomas, and Francis among others.

Lenora Christine married Henry Lee Henderson and they had seven children including Horace, Onra, Arum Henry, (Jaboe), Johnnie Delma, Francis Evelyn, Kenneth Avon, and Mona Faye.

Horace married Katie Marian Lee.

Manley

We can trace the Manley family tree back about six generations to  William (Bill) Manley (1838 - 1917), who married Mary Smith (1848 - 1932).

They were the parents of James (Jim) Manley (1868 - 1952).

James had the following siblings:  Richard, Walter, Allen, Andrew, John, Luberta, Daisy, Sallie, Zeb, Beulah, George, and Cora.

James is the father of Loretta Manley who married Jasper Lee. Loretta's siblings included Robert, Lettie, Geneva, Lillian, Walter, and Earnest.

Loretta's mother, Minnie Manley, was the daughter of Levi Winn jr. and Mary Winn.  Levi was the son of Adam Winn.
