AAPD
is the
largest national nonprofit cross-disability member organization
in the United States, dedicated to ensuring economic
self-sufficiency and political empowerment for the more than 56
million Americans with disabilities. AAPD works in coalition
with other disability organizations for the full implementation
and enforcement of disability nondiscrimination laws,
particularly the
Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990
and the Rehabilitation Act of
1973.
Access Now, Inc. -Helping to bring about as much
accessibility as possible to as many disabled persons as
possible. Membership is free and is open to the able-bodied as
well as the disabled.
Job Accommodation Network -An employment consulting service
and provider of information regarding the Americans with
Disabilities Act.
Law, Health Policy and Disability Center -Located at the
University of Iowa, is an emerging leader in technology,
education, and research, focused on improving the quality of
life for persons living with disabilities.
Leadership Council on Civil Rights (LCCR) -To lead the fight
for equality and social justice in the emerging digital society
through the establishment of an online social justice network.
